The Head of EHS and Facility Management is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs in accordance with the local regulation and the Group EHS policy and procedures, as well as the management of all facility-related operations. This leadership role ensures a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment for employees while optimizing facility performance and supporting organizational objectives. This position reports to the site director.
- Develop and lead the company’s Environmental Health & Safety strategies and initiatives to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DEP and local authorities), Establish and maintain good relationship with local authorities
- Establish and maintain EHS policies and procedures, ensuring that they are in alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals
- Lead EHS risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental impacts
- Conducting safety audits, Oversee EHS audits, inspections, and reporting, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
- Develop and implement EHS training programs to promote safety awareness and foster a safety culture across the organization
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on EHS-related matters
- Lead the facilities management function, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all physical assets, including buildings, machinery, and equipment
- Ensure that all facilities are maintained to meet regulatory standards, safety codes, and organizational needs
- Ensure all facility operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements related to safety, environmental, and health standards
- Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies, ensuring readiness for fire, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events
- Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with facilities and EHS practices
- Develop and maintain a strong safety culture
- Ensure that the workplace is fully compliant with all EHS regulations applicable to the R&D center
- Lead the annual EHS actions plan:
- Develop, monitor and report adequate KPIs
- Participate in the Group EHS network
o 5+ years of experience in EHS, Facilities Management, or a related field (R&D or kilolab would be preferred)
o Proven track record in managing EHS programs and facility operations within a corporate or industrial environment
o Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and industry best practices
